Happy Spring Break

Have a safe and wonderful spring break! We look forward to seeing all of you back at school in April.

Yearbook Order Deadline - April 25

Remember to purchase a Yearbook for EACH of your children. Kids love to sign each others Yearbooks at the end of the school year. This will be your only opportunity to purchase Yearbooks as we will not have extra copies printed. You are able to customize two pages this year so order early to give you time to download photos. Deadline for customizing is April 25th. Any questions, please contact Erika Eng or Megan Hill.

Attention Parents of 4th Grade Girls:

On Wednesday, April 12th, the fourth grade girls will have the opportunity to attend the “Linda” program presented by the Robert Crown Health Education Center. This program has been developed to acquaint the girls with the physical development and personal hygiene associated with growing up. The program will be presented in the Commons at Olive-Mary Stitt School at 7:00 p.m. It will end by 8:30 p.m.

Every girl attending must be accompanied by a parent or an adult chaperone. A permission slip was sent home March 22nd and must be returned to the office by Friday, April 7th.

Excess Funds Suggestions?

At this time of year, the PTA collects suggestions from the parent, teacher and school administration on how to spend our potential excess funds. Although we try and budget accordingly, there may be a chance our PTA fundraisers are more successful than we anticipate and we have extra money to spend. Since the PTA is a non profit organization we must close our fiscal year with a zero balance. Click Here to submit your suggestions through our online form. Please have your requests submitted by April 24th.

If available, please provide documentation of the exact amount your suggestion would cost and where we can purchase it.  An Excess Funds committee led by the PTA treasurer will evaluate the suggestions and vote on which ones to move forward with.  This will be reported and voted on at the last PTA meeting on May 11th.  Thank you for your support!

Character Counts March Fundraiser Results

On Monday, March 13th, Garibaldi’s Pizza & Olive-Mary Stitt joined together in a Character Counts fundraiser benefiting PENCILS OF PROMISE. This non-profit organization that believes every child should have access to quality education. PENCILS OF PROMISE create schools, programs and global communities around the common goal of education for all. Many thanks to all of the OMS families and teachers that took the time to support this worthy cause. Together we raised two hundred dollars, which will help educate eight students for a year. What a fantastic way to be global thinkers with big caring hearts! Thanks to our Character Counts Co-Chairs, Christine Gilbert and Rachael Hooker, for organizing this event.

Thank You Corner

At Olive-Mary Stitt we have many PTA sponsored programs and clubs, and we couldn't do any of it without our amazing volunteers!  We would like to send out personal thank you's to some of the people who made our most recent activities a success.

Chess Club wrapped up another successful year at Olive last week. The club's mission is to promote chess and make it accessible to the student body by encouraging newcomers unfamiliar with the game as well as welcoming back our seasoned chess players. Many thanks to Jennifer Faley and Stephanie Jennrich for Co-Chairing this committee.  We look forward to having you both back next year to lead our aspiring chess players.
