Olive-Mary Stitt will host two authors in the same day!

Students in grade 3 through 5 will welcome author/illustrator Peter Brown on Monday, April 10 at 11:00.  Peter has written and illustrated many New York Times’ best selling children’s books such as Wild Robot, Creepy Carrots, and Children Make Terrible Pets.   Currently, classroom teachers in these three grades are reading aloud some of Wild Robot, Peter’s first novel. So far, the students love hearing about the adventures of Roz, the robot who must adapt to her new home on an island full of animals.

Our younger students in grades K, 1, and 2 will also welcome an author on Monday, April 10 in the afternoon.  They will celebrate animals and poetry with Newbery Award-winning author, Kwame Alexander.  He will share his book Animal Ark: Celebrating Our Wild World in Poetry and Pictures. Mr. Alexander wrote the poetry to match the beautiful nature photography created by National Geographic photographer, Joel Sartore.

If students are interested in purchasing books by these authors, the LMC will provide order forms.  Paper copies of the forms will be sent home soon.  You may print your own copy of the order forms by visiting the Author Visits page on the LMC website.
