Wishing You a Relaxing Summer Vacation!

Monday will mark the end of another fantastic year at OMS. The learning adventures have been plentiful, the friendships long lasting, and the fun never ending! We hope that we will see many of you at our 5th grade sendoff on Monday at 3:30 pm, on the blacktop. If not, please enjoy a well-deserved break from the school year routine, and we'll see you back at the nest on Thursday, August 27th.

I am so grateful for the accomplishments and contributions of our students, staff, and parents this year. It was once again a privilege to lead such a remarkable school!

Internet Safety Presentations

During their LMC lessons in May, OMS fifth graders became experts on Internet Safety.  They learned about such topics as choosing safe passwords, creating good usernames, protecting computers from viruses, choosing what is safe to post online, etc.  In order to share that information with others, fifth graders worked with teams to create presentations using the online tool, Prezi. Then, they shared their presentations with the third graders.   The third graders enjoyed rotating through all of the interactive presentations that included information, mini quizzes, videos, and more.

4th Grade Greek Mythology Fun!

Every 4th grader researched a Greek god or goddess and shared stories and facts with our 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade friends.

5th Grade Rube Goldberg Challenge

Things are Erupting at OMS!

The 4th graders studied Earth's Changing Surface this year and as part of the unit, they learned about volcanoes.  They created their volcanoes at home and erupted them in the Olive courtyard.  We had so many creative projects and as you can see, some erupted pretty high!  It was our favorite experiment of the year!
