Recycle It Or Not? Sponsored by Your OMS Ecology Club
Paper towel wrappers, plastic shopping bags, bathroom tissue wrappers, shrink wrap from bulk orders....can you recycle this material? Yes, you can....but not in your curbside pick up. In your kitchen pantry, under the kitchen sink or next to the trash, set up a reusable bag and place all dry and clean plastic wrap into it. When your bag is full, take a trip to Target or Jewel and drop off your plastic wrap recyclables. This plastic wrap can be repurposed into patio decks, trash receptacles and many other useful products. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reflections Program - What is Your Story?
Does your child love art? This year’s National Reflection program theme is, "What Is Your Story?" OMS students in K-5 are encouraged to tell their story through dance, a short film, a poem or story, an original song, a photo or visual work of art. Students can create as many projects as they like, in as many arts categories as they like. From the local PTA, projects advance through a judging system through council, district, region, state and national levels of the program. Please CLICK HERE for the Rules and CLICK HERE for the Entry Form. Please return your submission to the school by November 4th. Any questions contact Kim Hemminger or Katie Fischer.
Waste Free Lunches Sponsored by: Your OMS Ecology Club
Please try to send Waste Free lunches from home each day. How? Easy! Use a reusable lunch box/bag, a cloth napkin (like you won't do laundry this week?) and a washable canteen to keep drinks cold. Sandwiches, chips, cookies, fruit and/or veggies can be placed in reusable Glad or Ziplock plastic containers (sold just down the aisle from the baggies and aluminum foil). Sandwiches don't get smashed at the bottom of the lunch bin; fruit stays firm and cookies stay whole! Have your kids help. They know what to do...we showed them at lunch!
