Lunch Time Rewards
The lunchroom is a very busy place with many students moving about. While this is a time for the children to relax and talk with their classmates there are still many expectations that they need to follow. When the students do an excellent job following lunchroom expectations they can earn a "red apple. Four red apples equals a lunchtime reward. The most common lunchtime reward is viewing a movie on the large screen. All movies shown during the school day are rated "G" and are on an approved school movie licensing list. Typically, the students earn a reward 3 to 4 times a month. Other rewards include listening to music from Kidz Bop by our in house "DJ" Mr. DeMarco or free choice seating. If we do offer a free choice seating day, usually only 2 or 3 times a year, please know that we take every precaution to ensure a safe lunchroom environment for our students with allergies.
ABC/25 Foundation Membership
Please consider becoming a member of ABC/25, a wonderful program that supports D25 schools. When 25% of a school’s families become members, the school is awarded a $2,500 grant. Families may join by donating $40 or more. Donations are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. One family membership counts towards ALL schools your children attend (if D25 staff with children in D25, it will count towards the school you work and the schools your children attend.) Our membership incentive grant was used for last year to purchase picnic tables for the courtyard and flexible furniture for the hallway outside of our LMC. Membership money is also used towards the funding of teacher grants. Please use the following link to become a member!

Open House October 26th
It was recently brought to our attention that our calendars were not synching correctly and Open House was listed on the wrong date. We apologize for this error and would like to confirm that our Olive-Mary Stitt Open House will be on October 26th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Bike Safety on School Grounds
We love that many of our families walk and/or bike to school. With Bike Rodeo right around the corner for our 3rd graders and new to Olive 4th and 5th grade students we thought it would be a great time to review the bicycle guidelines found on page 29 of the Parent/Student Handbook. During arrival and dismissal many people have been riding their bikes on the sidewalk, grass, and passing walkers, along Olive Street to and from Arlington Heights Road. This is a very crowded walkway. Please help us to keep everyone safe by being extra cautious when biking along Olive Street.
All bicycles should be walked on school property which includes the sidewalk along the loading zone, blacktop, and front plaza.

Thank you for helping us to keep our Owls and their families safe!
