Nest for Celeste - One Book One School

I hope that all of our families are sharing A Nest For Celeste together at home. Some of our students have already created reading nests and have sent in photos to be included in a slideshow to be aired at lunch in the future.  If you would like to send in a photo of your child reading A Nest For Celeste, please email it to omslmc@sd25.org.  Remember to include your child’s name and teacher name in the subject line. Also, if you are on Twitter, we’d love to see you tweet some family photos. Please include the hashtag #1book1olive so that we can find each other’s posts.

At school, our students have been busily searching for Celeste the mouse by following scavenger hunt clues.  So far, they have discovered her by the elevator and just outside the art room.

Students in grades 1 and 2 have learned some background information about John James Audubon, the famous painter of birds, during their library time this week. If your family would like to learn more about Mr. Audubon, please follow this link to read an encyclopedia article about him: http://www.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=3754343
