Welcome Back!
The school year is off to a great start! We started in August with a PTA Berry Yo Ice Cream Social fundraiser for No Kid Hungry. We were able to provide 986 meals for hungry kids. Thank you to Christine Gilbert for organizing. The DJ was blasting all of the summer hits at Rock the Nest, shout out to Rachael Hooker and Tanis Kurzynksi for all their hard work. The JD's BBQ was a delicious end to the day.

School Supplies
School supply kits were distributed to the classrooms
on Monday. Everyone that was on our list that ordered a kit was accounted for and received one. We are aware that some kits had missing supplies. The teachers have provided lists with any missing items. We are working with the vendor to get those missing items and they will be distributed to the teachers once received. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you to Megan Kerpec, Julie Talbot, Kelly DeRosa, Shannon Kersemeier, Mary Beth Canty and Tiffany Brown for helping to sort and distribute the kits to the classrooms.
Special thanks to our PTA committee chairs, Kerri Grabowski and Nilima Nanisetty, for their efforts coordinating with the vendor and helping ensure everyone receives their supplies.
Room Representatives Needed
We are currently placing Room Rep volunteers with classes and will be notifying parents of their placement via email by mid next week. Please

In order to volunteer as a Room Rep, you will need to be a PTA member. Room Reps plan and attend the class parties (Halloween & Valentine's Day) and provide communications to the parents regarding PTA events throughout the year. Don't miss this wonderful chance to spend time in your child's classroom!

Spirit Wear Sneak Peak
Stop by the PTA table at curriculum night and check out some samples of Olive's spirit wear! We have a variety of shirts, shorts and sweatshirts that your children would love to wear. We will begin to sell the items on

Bike Rodeo - Wednesday, September 13
Attention ALL 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The 2017 Bike Rodeo will be
Wednesday, September 13th after school until
4:45 p.m. The rain date will be
Wednesday, September 20th. Each year at Olive, we require that all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders who would like to ride their bike to school (and have not participated in the past) participate in the Olive-Mary Stitt PTA Bike Rodeo. This rodeo is an introduction to biking rules and an opportunity for the children’s bikes to be checked for safety. Children may ride their bikes to school on the day of the Bike Rodeo and any day after their successful completion of the Bike Rodeo. Helmets are required for attendance.

OMS PTA Calendar
All PTA events will be posted on the Olive school calendar. We recommend that you subscribe to it from your home computer or cell phone. We will make changes and updates on this calendar as club dates and events are confirmed and let you know when any changes have been made. Please

Box Tops
Our annual Box Top challenge will take place from
October 16th - 20th. Please start clipping and collecting. Box Tops can be found on items you use everyday from Land o Lakes butter to boxes of Kleenex and everything in between! Each one is worth 10 cents and they add up quickly! Last year we collected almost $1200! That's $1200 that goes right back to our school! Turning items that you buy everyday for your home, into money for our school. Clip away!
