Cultural Arts Performance
Thank you for your support of the OMS PTA this year. It allowed the Cultural Arts Committee to offer "Where the Sidewalk Ends," a musical based on the poetry of Shel Silverstein, presented by the performers of American Eagle Productions of Chicago. All students enjoyed the musical on the morning of Wednesday May 31 as the actors became beloved characters from Silverstein's most beloved poems including Backward Bill, Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout, and the Giving Tree. Special thanks to Christine Wellner and Becky Hany for chairing this PTA committee and bringing the arts to Olive.

End-of-School Gently Used School Supply Drive - Thursday, June 8
Give the gift of learning this summer to the underserved in our community. Character Counts is partnering with SCARCE an award-winning environmental education non-profit. They are dedicated to creating sustainable communities and hands-on education programs. Your donations will go directly into the hands of economically struggling school children.
Please note that this is a ONE DAY ONLY event. The "End-of-School Gently Used School Supply Drive" will take place on THRUSDAY,
JUNE 8th from
3:20-4:30pm at Greens Park, near Basketball court. Parents must accompany child donating items to this drive. Collecting gently used: pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, folders, scissors, paper, pens, glue, books, colored pencils and glue sticks.

Help Needed - Last Day of School - 8:45-9:05
We are looking for several people to help direct the kids into an alternate entrance in the morning of the last day of school,
Friday, June 9th from
8:45-9:05. The 5th grade breakfast will be going on in the commons and the kids will be entering through an alternate entrance. They will still be lining up in the same area as usual. Please email

World of Work Comes to OMS Spring 2018
So excited to announce that "World of Work" comes to Olive-Mary Stitt next Spring 2018. The purpose of "World of Work" program is to provide the 5th grade students an opportunity for a “real world” work experience. This program would afford the 5th grade children to see the value of hard work in different business settings. It would also allow them a window into the many steps involved in career aspirations. We will partner with local businesses and companies for the children to job shadow a few hours. Children will learn about career paths, job requirements, education and the importance of goals. The program will include a introduction to resume writing, beginner interviewing skills and a brown bag business lunch. This program must have enough chaperones to take flight, consider volunteering for "World of Work" PTA Program spring 2018.
School Supplies - 2017/2018
It is that time of year to place your online order for 2017/2018 school year. Online orders due by
June 11, 2017. School supply kits will be in placed in your child's classroom by the first day of school if you choose to order. You are also welcome to purchase supplies on your own.
Please
click here for the attached flier with instructions how to order your supplies and prices. Please review and make sure you are ordering the correct grade for your child. Note: school supplies are notebooks, pencils, etc. requested by each grade. This is not the same as the annual school fee paid during registration.
