Second Grade Families: Turn In Your Recyclables!
On Monday, April 11th, we begin collecting clean, dry and non-breakable recyclable items for Mr. DeMarco's Trash to Treasure station at the Earth Fair. The Earth Fair is at OMS on Wednesday, April 20th from 6:30-8 pm. In order for Mr. DeMarco's station to thrive, we need a bunch of good stuff so get to recycling Second Graders! Calling All 4th Graders! - Corrected
Be Inventors for the EARTH FAIR! Have you ever thought about taking a useless piece of trash and transforming it into something cool? Well, now’s your chance! Using clean, dry recyclable materials - invent something. Anything! Be creative! How about a nifty pencil holder, a colorful planter or a special figurine? The possibilities are endless. Bring your inventions to school on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20th, and they will be displayed that night at the OMS Earth Fair ( 6:30-8pm)! RECYCLE YOUR SPIRITWEAR at the Earth Fair!
Have you hit a growth spurt, need a new look or are you moving on to junior high? Then you need to RECYCLE your spirit wear at the Earth Fair on Wednesday, April 20th 6:30-8 pm. Donate or swap your OMS, THOMAS or SOUTH spirit wear for free. Unwanted spirit wear can be dropped off at OMS near the elevators OR brought to the Earth Fair on 4/20. Just Move It! Challenge-Volunteers Needed
The Just Move It! Challenge is still in need of volunteers! It takes over 75 volunteers to make race day a success! Street Marshal Volunteers are needed for both the 5K and 1 Mile. This is a great way to cheer on family and friends while they run or walk!
Thank you to everyone who registered to run or walk the JMI Challenge! What an outstanding and supportive community we have at Olive-Mary Stitt! Registration is still open if you or your family are still interested in participating!
All proceeds go to the Scholarship and Grant Fund, benefiting the education of School District 25 students through PTA scholarships and the ABC/25 Foundation Grant Selection.
Rockin' With The Cops - Calling all 5th Graders

District 25 5th Grade Track Meet 2016 Wednesday, May 11th
Our annual 5th Grade Track Meet will be held at South Middle School's Matthew Ives Memorial Track, 400 S Highland, from 4:15 - 6pm. There has always been a great OMS turnout for this event. Let's do it again this year! You don't have to be a track star to join in the fun and the experience of an interscholastic event. Interested students will be given a permission slip with details or click here for the attachment. All permission slips are DUE by MAY 2 to participate. Cub Scouts Recruiting Night
OMS Cub Scout Pack 169 invites all boys currently in Kindergarten through 4th grade to our annual recruiting event. All visiting boys will be able to participate in Minute-To-Win-It games and experience all the fun we have in Cub Scouts. Come join us April 21 at 7:00 PM in the Olive Commons. We will also have a table at the OMS Earth Fair, so stop by and say Hello!
Attention Parents of 4th Grade Girls
Please make sure you have turned in your permission slip for the “Linda” program happening on Wednesday, 4/13. The program will be presented in the Commons at Olive-Mary Stitt School at 7:00 p.m. It will end by 8:30 p.m.Please click here for a copy of the permission slip. Anderson Book Fair -Wednesday, April 20th
Please join us on Wednesday, April 20th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for the Anderson's Book Fair! There will be a great selection of titles and a variety of prices, including author-autographed books and teacher recommended books. Olive receives a percentage back from all sales to help fund future PTA programs. Please come out and support our school on the same night as the Earth Fair!
Excess Funds Suggestions?
At this time of year the PTA collects suggestions from the parent, teacher and school administration on how to spend our excess funds. Please submit your suggestions on paper via the box in the office or through this online form. Please have your submissions submitted by April 30th. Thank you for your support with this fun project.
Donate Your Old Shoes
Now through April 20th, The Ecology Club & Character Counts program are teaming up to collect gently used adult/child footwear during the month of April for Share Your Soles, which provides footwear internationally to the impoverished. We value recycling & kindness at OMS! Please contact Rachael Hooker with any questions.
