Ethan Long, the author and illustrator of more than 70 children's books gave a presentation to students in grades K-2 on Tuesday, November 17. He taught students some important skills about creating characters and stories, such as being responsible and learning to collaborate with others. The audience had fun helping Mr. Long design a character named CooCoo, the dog. It was amazing how fast Mr. Long could draw CooCoo in all sorts of different poses. The audience counted down the seconds (10-20 total!) while Mr. Long made the drawings. Students in Mrs. Wilhelm's second grade class had a special opportunity to work more closely with Mr. Long during their art class in Mr. DeMarco's room.
