It's never to early to talk about snow pants!

A few weeks ago we posted a reminder about the colder weather approaching.  It has now arrived.  Please make sure your child is coming to school prepared to go outside for recess.  We head outside for fresh air if the temperature is above zero degrees.  This is also the season of misplaced hats, scarfs, gloves, and mittens!  We can return these items to your child if they are labeled.

Re: Recess Participation

Our school monitors weather conditions daily.   Weather permitting, all of our children will be participating in outdoor play times.  Studies have demonstrated significant benefits in educational programming when fresh air and free playtime is included in the school day.  Studies also demonstrate that if children are properly dressed for the weather, they will not become ill due to weather conditions.

If your child is well enough to come to school, he or she will be expected to dress for weather conditions and to participate in outdoor play.  The only exception would be a note from your doctor indicating a diagnosed reason to limit fresh air playtime and a prescribed length of time the child needs to remain indoors.  We will not honor parent requests to limit outdoor participation.
