Just Move It Challenge! Thanks to all who came out last weekend to support ABC/25's and PTA Council's Just Move It Challenge!!! There were so many OMS staff and families present. Author Visit Rescheduled:  Attention 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders: Blue Balliet, author of the award winning book Chasing Vermeer, is coming to visit on April 23rd! There is a an opportunity to purchase an autographed copy of one of her books and a special challenge/opportunity from Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Watanuki.  Please use this form to order a copy of the book
 
Rockin' with the Cops: Applications are being accepted for the annual Rockin' With The Cops Event on June 4, 2015 from 7-10 PM at Pioneer Park. This event is open to Arlington Heights Residents who are current 5th graders that also attend an Arlington Heights School. SD25 5th Grade Track Meet:  The track meet will be held at Matthew Ives Memorial Track at South Middle School On Thursday, May 14 at 4:15 - 6:00pm. Click here for information and permission slips.  Permission slips are due by May 8.
 
Spring Camp Fit - Camp Fit will be starting soon. Sign up early as SPACE IS LIMITED!
Camp Fit is a 5 week program for OMS students in grades 1-5.  We meet on Tuesdays in May and June from 3:45-4:45 PM.  We will meet on May 5, 12, 19, 26 and June 2.  Space for this session is limited.  In Camp Fit, students will participate in various activities: Running, Stretching and PE Games. Earth FairThe Ecology Club is proud to present our annual big event - Earth Fair. On Wednesday, April 22 from 6:30-8:00 pm, grab your family and join us at OMS to learn about recycling, play fun games, recycle spirit wear, win prizes, visit with outside vendors and be part of the GREEN action here at OMS. Please drop your spirit wear donations in the office.  Sign up here to volunteer!!! Don't miss this event!

* Earth Day Fair Science Club Challenge: Create a glider using materials retrieved from your recycling bin. Bring your plane to the Earth Day Fair on April 22 where it will be evaluated for craftsmanship, creativity, and accuracy of flight. For ideas on how to design and build your glider, check out the Science Club website at www.scienceclubatoms.weebly.com.

* Calling all 4th grade inventors: Make an invention out of recyclable rubbish! Vase, candle holder, tool? You name it. Turn your invention in to Ms. Brown's classroom (131) on the day of the Earth Fair, 4/22, and have it on display at the fair! Be creative and be part of the action at OMS!
 
* Attention 2nd Grade Families: Attention 2nd Grade families: You have been selected to help Mr. DeMarco with his Trash To Treasure station at the Earth Fair.  Click here for the flyer.
 
* Save the Monarch Butterfly: The monarch butterfly, perhaps the most iconic and beautiful butterfly in North America, is in trouble and it needs your help today! Get involved!  Click here for more information.
 
Excess Funds:  Do you have ideas about how we can spend our PTA excess funds?  Please submit ideas to Michelle Thompson or there is a box in the office.  
Open Committee Chairs for next year (2015-2016) -  We have a few committee chair positions still available for next year:  Parent Patrol, Roller skating night co-chair, Just Move It school representative.  Please contact Rebecca Linscott or Angie Frye if you are interested or would like more information.
