PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We are thrilled to welcome a new PTA program to our OMS 5th graders in 2018! “World of Work” (WOW) will launch on Friday, March 2, 2018. The new program will provide 5th grade students with an opportunity to see “real world” work experience. We hope WOW will allow the students to see the value of hard work in different business settings while also giving them a window into various career options. We'll partner with local businesses and companies (examples: Berry-yo, Thrown Elements, AH library, local banks) to set up job shadowing opportunities. As always, we need a village to help this program take flight. Here are all the WOW volunteer opportunities, please consider helping us make this a reality!

SHOUT OUTS

The conference dinner was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who donated food, drinks, supplies, raffle prizes and time. The teachers were incredibly excited and appreciative of this special event. Co-Chairs Sarah Wade and Diane Burda give our teachers a special night that goes above and beyond acknowledging their hard work. From the invitations to the raffle prize presentation, not a detail is missed. The only thing that would have made it better was tropical temperatures and we wouldn't have been surprised if they made that happen!
*If you have not done so, please be sure to pick up your coolers, pans and serving utensils.*
