Special Visitors Meet With Our 5th Grade Students
A good friend of Mary Stitt, Ayuba Gufwan, spoke with our 5th grade students about overcoming disabilities and helping others. He makes wheelchairs from bicycle parts, which are given to polio survivors. We are so honored that they joined us today!

Internet safety...brought to you by 5th grade
Our tech savvy 5th grade students gave presentations to 3rd grade students on the topic of Internet safety today. They created their presentations in the LMC using a program called Prezi. Some of the topics they covered were what pictures are safe to post and which ones are not, getting permission to use music and photos posted by others, making sure that websites are secure, avoiding scams and spam, and creating safe and appropriate usernames and passwords. It turned out to be a great learning experience for all of the students!
OMS PTA retreat
To kick the year off, our PTA executive board and principals had the privilege of meeting and working together at Sunrise Lake Education Center, an NSSEO experience education site. One of the team building exercises was a egg drop, so we enjoyed sharing our creations with the 5th graders that had just completed the same activity.
