5th Grade Egg Drop
Our 5th grade students enjoyed creating containers for their eggs, hoping that when dropped the eggs would survive. We had one that survived a drop from the roof!

Have you seen Pete the Cat?
Our first grade friends are looking for clues, hoping to find our friend, Pete the Cat. Pete left clues in our music room, the gym, in the LMC, and all around the school. Pete had a great first week at school. As he likes to say, "It's all good!"

Meet & Greet
It was so wonderful to welcome all of our families back for another great year at OMS. Our event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new sign. Thank you to the PTA for this beautiful new addition to our entryway. A special note of thanks to Carrie Hill for her unwavering efforts to ensure that the sign became a reality.
Thank you to all of the PTA volunteers that helped out with our Meet & Greet. We look forward to seeing everyone for our first day of school!

Summer Construction
If you have been by the school this summer, you may have noticed a few projects. Our playground was dug up and resurfaced with new wood chips to provide better drainage. Our front entryway is being transformed with a new sign (thank you PTA!) and grassy areas. To accommodate continued growth, a new classroom was created where the teacher's lounge was once located. The teacher's lounge has been moved to a space that was previously used for storage. The exit to our parking lot was re-graded to reduce the slope from the parking lot to the street. Our parking lot is scheduled to be seal coated next week, so please feel free to use the church parking lot during the time that it is closed. We are so excited about these enhancements to our building!
