Twas' the day before winter break and room 110 was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a cozy fire, white lights, a snowman, and, of course, lots of fun stories and an Oliver the Owl reader's theater activity.

Hersey High School Holiday Concert

Thank you to Scott Casagrande, Director of Bands at Hersey High School, and all of the talented high school musicians for a wonderful concert this afternoon. We even had a couple of Olive friends that helped direct the band!

These students gave a HOOT, and we do too!

Gingerbread Math in Kindergarten

Did you know that a crayon is smaller than a gingerbread man? And a book is bigger than a gingerbread man? Math is so much fun when measuring with a gingerbread man!

Nonfiction November Results for Blog

The LMC staff was pleased to announce the results of the Nonfiction November contest.  Every class competed by reading nonfiction books, finding interesting facts to share from the books, and writing those onto forms. The forms were collected and displayed on classroom posters in the hall. Our kids read a total of 2,237 nonfiction books for the contest! The top five classes who read the most books were:

Fifth Place:  5-3 who read 164 books
Fourth Place:  4-1 who read 175 books
Third Place:  1-3 who read 188 books
Second Place:  1-2 who read 197 books
First Place:  2-1 who read 203 books!

Our students were excited to learn and share new facts as they participated in this contest.  The LMC staff would like to encourage kids to continue to check out nonfiction books for their reading enjoyment.
